About

Phoenix has its roots as a guild all the way back to the start of WoW in Europe. The core of the guild was part of a 2 day raiding guild which managed to clear Spider wing and a couple of other bosses in old Naxx. We split from that old guild for several reasons during the levelling process shortly after TBC came out, and we created Phoenix.

We are a guild that caters for people who are not able to raid on a heavy schedule, but still wish to see end game content. We raid three nights a week, Monday, Thursday and Sunday, for which attendance is mandatory. On these nights we focus on new content primarily (when it is there..), on off-days there’s occasionally some alt raids.

We are a relatively small guild and don’t have a massive turn over of players like other guilds do. As such we are a quite close-knit community and we expect members to have good communication skills, a microphone and the will to use it is a big plus. It is also worth noting that the members we do have are very dedicated, both to the raiding nights we run and to the social element of the guild. If you join us you can expect a friendly and mature atmosphere and endless hours of talk about random gibberish in unintelligible accents on Discord.

What’s our schedule?

  • Thursday 19:30 – 23:30
  • Sunday 19:30 – 23:30
  • Monday 19:30 – 23:30

Invites begin at 19:30 and we aim to begin pulling by 19:45. There will be a 10 minute break during the raid, this usually occurs anywhere between 21:30 and 22:00 depending on how things are going.

Additionally, we run an alt/friend raid that is run on Wednesdays. For the first few lockouts of a tier this run will be normal mode while we clear heroic in our main raids, and once we stop clearing heroic in our traditional days we will start running heroic on wednesday. These runs are entirely optional and not part of our raid schedule.

What we expect from you

  • Attendance. We have three mandatory raiding days; Sunday, Monday and Thursday 20:00 and 23:30 server time (invites at 19:30, replacements at 19:45). All members are expected to be available on these days, however there is an opportunity to sign AWOL if unable to attend. AWOLs should only be made for engagements that are really important.
  • Communication. We use Discord during raids and all members are expected to be able to communicate and follow raid orders. Speaking is optional, but you must be able to communicate clearly if an encounter mechanic demands it. All communication is done in English, so if you struggle with spoken English please let us know. All members have forum access, and should check regularly for updates to encounter strategies prior to raids.
  • Preperation. We only raid 3-days and need all the time we can use on progressing. We expect you to have done some research into new encounters to know what to expect, even if just in the form of watching a video. We have a forum section dedicated to encounters, participation is encouraged. You should come to raids with appropriate consumables (Flasks, Potions, Food) and be gemmed and enchanted to the required level.
  • Performance. While we do not expect you to achieve high ranks, we expect you to perform up to mythic standard and have a level of raid awareness during encounters.

If this sounds appealing to you, check out our Rules and make an Application. Applications will be posted on our closed forum section, with access for member ranks. Any questions can be directed to one of the officers in-game (Troopcsd, Abbey, Beeblespark or Qsilver)
